Open hearts. Open doors. Open minds.

Youth Fellowship

The Youth Fellowship at Aldersgate is made up of a great bunch of young people in sixth through twelfth grade. We hold regular meetings every other Sunday evening. At these meetings, we have scripture based lessons that we can relate to our daily lives. We've studied the 10 Commandments, the Beatitudes, what is means to be a good friend, and how to be responsible with our money, just to name a few.

We are involved in many programs in the church, including serving as acolytes, the Christmas Cookie Exchange, helping at Bible school, stuffing and hiding the eggs for our church's Easter Egg Hunt, and lending a hand in the Nursery and Cribbery during church services. Each year we adopt a teenager through the Christmas Angel program and take a shopping trip to buy all the gifts for our teen. We have several fundraisers throughout the year to support our group. One of our biggest adventures each year is our trip to Creation, where we spend part of a week with THOUSANDS of our Christian brothers and sisters in the HEAT and HUMIDITY to learn even more about God's love for us. We hear great speakers and see super bands like The Newsboys, Casting Crowns, and Reliant K. At least once a year, we travel to Mifflin to visit our friends at the JAM House and spend and evening with them in order to give the houseparents a well-deserved break!

Parents' Nite Out is another of our favorite activities-we entertain the youngsters in our church while their parents enjoy an evening out. All of our Youth Fellowship members are Safe Sanctuaries trained as well! Our group has lessons, service activities and fun events all year long and there is plenty of food at every event! All teens are welcome to join us. We also welcome the members of our church family to join us for any meeting to learn more about what we do and we thank them for their never-ending support.

Fun and fellowship are just the beginning. If you have any questions contact Terri or Kim at youth@aumcmifflintown.org
